Traveling To Las Vegas Just For A Concert

I am such an introvert. That I have no problem doing a lot of things alone. Eating at a restaurant by myself has never been a problem. I seriously have no problem being left on my own and not talk to anyone. And this bled over to my traveling. Half of all the traveling I’ve done has been solo and it has been some of the best trips I have taken.

The first one I’ve taken since the pandemic was going to Las Vegas for four days. Not because I really wanted to go there but because of a concert. This is definitely my year of concerts and I’m loving it. Yeah, I did plan a trip to go to day 3 and 4 of the BTS concert.

And almost everything I did was related to it. I went to the Permission to Dance Pop-up and actually bought tickets the Behind The Scene installation. I even waited in line for 3 hours to go to a tattoo pop-up.

I am and will always be grateful that I got floor tickets for the Friday and Soundcheck on the Saturday. Funny, I did not know I got soundcheck until over a week after I bought them. There was so much anxiety that I just bought what i could. Plus the app didn’t give all the info when you looked them up. So Once it did all show up later I read through it again to make sure I didn’t need to do anything before going and I just saw SOUNDCHECK.

I can’t say enough how much fun I had at these concerts, and I’ve been to a lot. Mostly punk and rock concerts, and this is my second stadium one. Everyone around me was so nice and it was great to talk to people who all were just as excited to be there.

The music and production was awesome. Having a light stick and singing fan chants just brings the experience up so high. I’ve never felt like I was a part of the whole experience.

The thing you always have to think of traveling solo is safety. I wanted to not feel rushed so I got a hotel near the venue so I could walk. Which made it easy to go back and forth to drop things off at my room or just take a quick rest. I also had an idea of what there was to do do around me and where food was. I wanted to save money by walking but also not feel like I needed to look over my shoulder while doing it.

But since the Pop-up was not nearby I kept using Lyft to get around and made sure I kept an eye on who was actually driving and the exact car. Not to be distracted. Which made me feel good that when one ride had to take a detour the app did check on me.

But the one great thing about going for a concert is that everyone there is happy and just wants to enjoy themselves. So every line I was in people were very open to talking and answering questions. And there were a lot of long lines.

So don’t feel scared about going somewhere alone or just for one thing. Yeah, I got some shit for going to Vegas and I didn’t do any of the touristy things there (I don’t like gambling at all). But I had so much doing just what I wanted. Isn’t that the point of travel? I have no regrets and will have these memories to keep.
